The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy is a playful story surrounding the lives of a group of friends. Gathering in Jack’s Broken Hearts restaurant, this West Hollywood troupe looks to restaurateur Jack as a father figure, who offers advice in life and love. Dean Cain delivers a humorous role as Cole, one of the best friends of main character Dennis, played by Timothy Olyphant. Cole is as narcissistic as he is handsome, treating his lovers like play things and never knowing the pain of a broken heart. That is until he meets and hooks-up with local movie star Kip Rogers, who manages to turn the tables on young Cole.
Born and raised in Malibu, Dean Cain is the son of actress Sharon Thomas Cain and his adopted father, Christopher Cain. After graduating from Santa Monica High School, Cain went on to Princeton and majored in history. A natural athlete, Cain set an NCAA record for interceptions in one season, which earned him a spot on the NFL’s Buffalo Bills roster upon graduation. A tragic knee injury, however, ended his professional football career.
Following his football days, Cain began taking up small roles in advertising and extra roles for television until landing his most famous role of Clark Kent/Superman in the smash series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Cain continued with television, holding a variety of recurring roles in popular TV series, as well starring in TV movies.
Following his success in Superman, Dean Cain continued to act in a variety of TV movies and series, including Rag and Bone, Adventures from the Book of Virtues, Futuresport, and Fantasy Island. A rising star, Dean Cain began collecting film credits in the early 2000’s. His most recognizable roles were in films such as The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy, No Alibi, Flight of Fancy, Rat Race, New Alcatraz, Out of Time, and Descent Into Darkness.
